FAIRFIELD COUNTY:

On Tuesday night, the John Fedchock New York Big Band will perform two sets also at 8 & 10. 15.)     Downtown at the Jazz Standard – 116 E. 27th Street (between Lexington and Park Aves.), you can hear the sounds of the Mingus Jazz Orchestra every Monday night at 7:30 & 9:30. Starting Tuesday night and continuing thru Sunday night, it’s Randy Weston’s African Rhythms Birthday Celebartion Week. Special guest Artists like Benny Powell and Billy Harper will join Randy on Tuesday night. On Wednesday night, his trio with Alex Blake and percussionist, Neil Clake will be in. On The following nights – Thursday thru Sunday, it’s Randy’s Quintet with Trombonist Benny Powell and Saxophonist, Billy Harper who’ll finish out this weeks celebration.
