Street Smarts Summer Cycling Celebration

Sponsored by: City of New Haven

This year’s *Street Smarts Summer Cycling Celebration* will take place in East Rock Park. During the festival, all of the roads in East Rock Park will be closed to motor vehicle traffic, allowing all 425 acres of the park to be made available for a full day of free “all ages” activities – including carnival rides, helmet giveaways, BMX stunt shows, a bicycle scavenger hunt, hiking tours, a break dancing show, street performers, and full access to the trails for leisure biking and walking. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bikes (and helmets, of course!), although non-cyclists will be able to reach the festivities on East Rock’s summit either by foot or by free shuttle. There will also be a limited number of bikes available to rent. Outdoors lovers, cycling fanatics, and New Haven enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels are invited to enjoy the day’s events! For more info, check out www.cityofnewhaven.com/streetsmarts. It’s all free!
