6:00 am WPKN Mornings with Chris Teskey: music, news, community events
9:00 am to 7pm Observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Today on Martin Luther King Day Service For Peace will lead hundreds of local volunteers as part of a nationwide initiative designed to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy of public service. Volunteers are asked to report at 8:30 AM at the Student Center at the University of Bridgeport for opening ceremonies. Free T-shirts will be distributed. Volunteers will then participate in various community service projects. A FREE Indoor Carnival called The Field of Hope will be held at the Wheeler Center at UB from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
WPKN will be broadcasting from the event along with presenting special programming on Martin Luther King Jr. from 9:00am until 7:00pm.
