On Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 18, 2010, Service For Peace will lead hundreds of local volunteers as part of a nationwide initiative designed to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy of public service. Volunteers are asked to report at 8:30 AM at the Student Center at the University of Bridgeport for opening ceremonies. Free T-shirts will be distributed. Volunteers will then participate in various community service projects. An FREE Indoor Carnival called The Field of Hope will be held at the Wheeler Center at UB from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

WPKN will be broadcasting from the event along with presenting special programming on Martin Luther King Jr. from 9:00am until 7:00pm– Monday January 18th,
