1 PM Jazz And Standards: Malcolm C. Dankner

4 PM Radio Something: Valerie Richardson

Valerie will have several guests on her show this afternoon between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Dylan McDonnell, a sophomore music major from Oberlin College, spent his winter break traveling and interviewing musicians in Senegal. He’ll be on the air talking about his experiences at 5:30. Dylan is also a radio host at the Oberlin radio station, and he will take the WPKN reins from 6:00 to 6:50 to do some of his own programming.

Working backwards in time, sometime between 5:00 and 5:30, Valerie will be speaking with Istvan Peter B’Racz about the fabulous musical happening “Square’s Rhomboidal Dream,” which will have a performance tomorrow night (Wednesday, January 30) at Dixon Place, 161A Chrystie Street, NYC. Square’s Rhomboidal Dream is performed by New Haven musician/producer B’Racz and CT lighting designer Jamie Burnett who are teaming up with NYC’s T-Byrd Burnett and Loop 2.4.3 (created by Yale alum Thomas Kozumplik) for a new multi-media adventure. The Richardson family attended the December performance of this work in New Haven and give it a three-thumbs up/ten out of ten stars rating!

To begin the show today at 4:15, Valerie will be speaking with Zach Tetreault from the Florida-based group Hundred Waters. They will be playing The Space in Hamden tomorrow night Wednesday night along with Freelance Whales. If Bjork and Fairport Convention had a love child, it might possibly be Hundred Waters.
