Slow Food is a group of people around the country and around the world who believe in slowing down and paying attention to what they eat and how it's grown.

The White Rose Political Calendar is WPKN's excellent weekly calendar and source for information about local "demonstrations, meetings, lectures, films and boycotts" organized by local activists.

Columbus House, a homeless shelter in New Haven. They has just published As I Sat on the Green: Living Without a Home in New Haven. This book is a collection of poetry, prose and interviews with people who are, or have been, homeless in greater New Haven. A series of readings and a slide show will be held in cities throughout Connecticut this year.
